Drone Photography Basics

In this workshop you will learn how to use your drone to capture amazing photographs. You will learn the basic principles of photography and how to apply these principles to your new perspective of no longer being constrained by the height of your reach while standing on the ground. You will learn how the perspective of the viewer changes as the height of your camera changes. Often your best composition may be from a position that is only 3 or 4 times higher than your reach. Other times being overhead and photographing straight down may be the best image. You will learn how to use a drone as a tripod with a considerably higher reach than a normal tripod to get those images that are otherwise beyond our capability. You will learn that the options for your new ability to photograph from a different perspective are limitless.

This workshop is not intended to teach you how to fly a drone but we will discuss best practices for you to position your drone for great images. And you will be offered tips on how to practice your piloting skills to become more proficient with your flying. Your instructor is an FAA Certified sUAS (small unmanned aerial system) Pilot.
